On Tuesday August 4, a catastrophic explosion devastated Beirut’s port, killing at least 163 people and injuring 6,000 more.
To raise funds for the disaster relief effort, restaurants and communities across Dubai are launching initiatives to help.
Here are the details.
La Cantine Du Faubourg
In partnership with the Red Crescent, DIFC’s upscale Parisian hideaway La Cantine Du Faubourg will be offering a special sharing set menu on Monday August 17,
with all proceeds donated to support Beirut. It’s priced at AED 600 per person for a set menu and drinks package.
Iris Dubai
A Lebanon-born brand, Iris Dubai will be hosting a three-course ‘Dine and Donate’ Lebanon relief dinner at its summer pop-up within Gaucho, DIFC, on Monday August 17.
Publique and Reform Social & Grill
Both part of the Gates Hospitality group, British gastro pub Reform Social & Grill and Alpine-inspired restaurant Publique in Madinat Jumeirah will be hosting ‘Cook for Beirut’ on Tuesday August 18 and Wednesday August 19 respectively.
Talabat
On Wednesday August 12, ‘Lunch for Lebanon’ will be launched on online food delivery platform, Talabat. Proceeds from all orders made across the platform, regardless of which outlet you order from, between 12pm and 4pm will be donated to the Beirut relief fund.
Cinema screenings: Cinema Akil
Alserkal Avenue’s Cinema Akil has arranged ‘Beirut Relief Screenings’ for Friday August 14 and Saturday August 15, when the independent arthouse cinema will be showing Where Do We Go Now, directed by Nadine Labaki.
